Continue reading for more details and to book your places, find out more on the Courses page of the Badger Press website.  Join Kate Dicker in the studio for a weekend of Wood Engraving. This small-scale, relief, printmaking medium is capable of producing exquisite interpretations using the variety of engraving tools on polished, end-grain wood blocks. Suitable for all levels. This course will introduce the techniques of wood engraving; through practical work students will be introduced to the materials and equipment before creating prints that are rich in tones, textures and graphic contrasts. Course runs from 10am - 4.30pm (daily). Course fee £122   Book a place! Join tutor Andy Reaney to explore the possibilities of line etching This one day course will introduce the techniques and processes of line etching. Developing their own images, students will learn to transfer their designs to zinc plates before etching in a saline sulphate mordant; made from copper sulphate and sodium chloride, this is a safer alternative to traditional acids. Following plate preparation, etching and proofing, students will go on to create their own small edition of prints; using two additional techniques to add colour to the etched designs. Suitable for beginners and those looking to refresh existing skills. Course runs from 10am - 5pm. Course Fee £70      Book a place!   This comprehensive evening course will guide you through the creative process of relief printing exploring Linocut. Running for 5 Consecutive Wednesday evenings/ 6.30pm – 9pm, starting on Wednesday the 7th of November. Linocut is a technique with endless possibilities for experimentation and creativity. Generate your own designs, learn the techniques of linocut, print single and multiple colours by hand and work the printing press to produce numerous outcomes!  Course fee £75    Book a place!  Join tutor Jo Morley on this weekend of progressive linocut     This two-day course will guide students through the process of producing a reduction linocut. Students will work with the expert guidance of our tutor to cover the complete reduction process; beginning with planning and transferring their design to the block, before cutting and printing in stages to develop printed layers. Students will learn cutting tool techniques, colour mixing, how to ink-up the block and register using Ternes Burton pins. Each student will cut and print their own design over the two days - using the press to print an edition to take home. This course is suitable for all levels. All tools and materials will be provided. Course runs from 10am - 5pm daily. Course fee £120    Book a place!  Explore the dynamic process of Collagraph with Jo Morley   learn to make multiple plates using a range of materials to create textures and graphic patterns. Collagraph plates are simple and inexpensive to produce, offering the potential for strong, dramatic, expressive and sophisticated imagery, providing artists with opportunities to explore and experiment. Print in both relief and intaglio, develop plates and experiment with colour. Course runs from 10am - 5pm. Course fee £65   Book a place! This two day Screen Printing course will cover the complete screen printing process, designed to appeal to all abilities from beginners, to those wanting to brush up on their existing skills; artists and graphic designers alike. Using photo emulsion to fix images to the screen or applying stencils directly; students will combine techniques to produce artwork that can originate from hand-drawn, photographic or digital starting points. Course runs from 10am - 5pm (daily).
