The recent NCAA ruling allowing true freshmen to play in a maximum of four games and still be allowed a redshirt season is beginning to factor. Of note, junior college transfer Jamar Richardson is a newcomer to the roster who hasn't seen any action this year, thus we expect him to redshirt. Here is a look at the true freshman participation so far this season and who has already burned their redshirt, who still might and which players are likely to hang on to their redshirt status at this late juncture of the season.
A week four injury to starting quarterback Matt Corral forced the issue and Plumlee played so well he hasn't come off the field yet. He has now played in five games with four starts under his belt. He has completed 39-of-82 passes for 456 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 508 yards and four scores.
Ealy has played in all eight games this season without an official start, rushing for 384 yards and four touchdowns. Ealy has nine catches for 92 yards and a score. He has a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Mingo has started all eight games for the Rebels this season at wide receiver. He has caught nine passes for 144 yards and one touchdown, averaging 16.0 yards per reception.
Broeker has played in all eight games for the Rebels this season, exclusively at left tackle. Broeker generally has been platooning with senior Michael Howard. He is the only one of a seven-man true freshman offensive line class to have seen any action at this point.
Conner has played in all eight games this season as part of the running back rotation and on special teams. He has rushed for 307 yards and a touchdown with four catches for 27 yards.
Jackson has played in five games with no starts. He has two catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson has played in five games on special teams and as a reserve wide receiver. He has two catches for 31 yards.
Has played in all eight games this season, drawing one start which came against Vanderbilt. He has eight tackles and an interception to his credit.
Cistrunk has played in all eight games this season, seeing time as a reserve inside linebacker and on special teams. He has registered two tackles.
Has played in all eight games this season as a reserve defensive back and special teams contributor. Finley has made three tackles and recovered two huge special teams fumbles that came at critical junctures of the game.
Has played in five games with one start, that coming against Vanderbilt. Stanley has registered eight tackles on the season.
Has played in seven of eight games, registering one tackle.
Tisdale has seen action in just one game this season, but with four remaining to be played, he could possibly go over the four-game minimum. His only action came late against Alabama.
Has played in one game as a reserve defensive tackle versus Arkansas.
Lucas was well on his way to burning his redshirt before tearing his Achilles versus Alabama, ending his season. He played in the maximum four games.
